Corrugated driver
The corrugator line operator controls corrugated cardboard production facilities assembled in line: he coordinates the operations of this machine by managing numerous interdependent parameters on screens and relying on assistant operators, each responsible for controlling a subset of the line.
"After a vocational baccalaureate, I worked as a temp and then I was offered training as a driver which lasted ten months. This allowed me to become familiar with all the processes and to master my job. It is a very dynamic job, which requires a lot of knowledge, particularly about the material and the machine, with a motivating salary. What I like is the material that we work with: it is a healthy material that is sometimes complex to work with. The particularity with cardboard is that it is a living material. You can never obtain the same cardboard, identically, there is always a variation in hydrometric or texture. Trend in the evolution of the profession: The machines are becoming more and more automated, which requires the driver to work on a screen, monitoring visual indicators. The driver has increasingly extensive functions: he can participate in maintenance, quality, safety, the environment and the constant improvement of the process."
