"After a vocational baccalaureate in the pulp, paper and cardboard industries as an apprentice, I was immediately hired as a replacement, then I learned the trade of winder. A few years later, I wanted to work on the paper machine and I was offered the position of assistant dryer. Today, I am training to be a dryer. I have theoretical training in the classroom and on a simulator, and practical training on the job with my tutor. It's a job where you learn every day: it's moving!
I did a BTS in the paper industry, on a work-study basis. When I arrived in this field, it was a turning point: I was able to put into practice what I was learning. Today, in eight hours of work, I produce between 280 and 300 tons of paper! I have a role as technical coordinator. I have to be very vigilant because the machine is very complex. Every day is different, it's factory work but it's not routine work. I'm very proud to know how to run this machine! Trend in the evolution of the profession: As part of the improvement and reliability plans for industrial processes, the driver, an expert in driving by definition, is the essential technical resource. He must increasingly integrate managerial functions: production is no longer his only objective, he is involved in the organization and supervision of the production line."
